Friday July 14 (SOLD-OUT)

One of the most influential American bands of the last decade Fleet Foxes have confirmed a second headline show at Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on July 13th following the quick sell-out of their show on July 14th.  The concert marks Fleet Foxes first Irish appearances since June 2011 at the Marquee in Cork. The band’s last Dublin appearance was September 2009 at Vicar Street. The announcement quickly follows the news via the band’s singer and primary songwriter Robin Pecknold that the third Fleet Foxes album is almost completed after a long hiatus.

The band’s self-titled debut album was released to global acclaim on Sub Pop in the US and Bella Union in Europe in June 2008. It was subsequently voted Album of the Year by Pitchfork. The Guardian described the album as "a landmark in American music — an instant classic.” UNCUT Magazine awarded the album their first ever Music Award that same year. UNCUT’s editor, Allan Jones, said the album "showed impeccable musicianship, and although you could trace its antecedents, it sounded totally unique. Fleet Foxes was just a glorious debut."

The band’s second album Helplessness Blues was subject to even greater plaudits upon its release in May 2011 including a four-star review from Rolling Stone editor David Fricke who said: “…Helplessness Blues is vocalist-songwriter Robin Pecknold's dazzling evocation of early-Seventies rock Eden: the Sunflower-era Beach Boys and the spaced-cowboy romance of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, dosed with the Indo-Celtic exotica of the Incredible String Band.”

Helplessness Blues album reached Number 4 in the US Billboard album charts and number 2 in the UK album charts and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Folk Album in 2012.
