Clannad - 2008
2008 marks many milestones for Clannad, the originators of that much imitated, haunting, ethereal sound.
It's 35 Years since their first album was released. 25 years since their timeless piece ‘Theme From Harry's Game' became a chart hit across Europe and 10 years have passed since their last studio album release, the Grammy Award winning ‘Landmarks'.
Across their 35 year career they have sold over 10 million records in all corners of the globe. As well as Grammy awards they have also been honoured with an Ivor Novello and a BAFTA award
Bono, who duetted with them on the hit ‘In A Lifetime', describes their sound as "like hearing the sound of angels singing". Their music has featured in numerous films such as Patriot Games and Last Of The Mohicans and they also composed all the music for three series of the hugely successful ‘Robin Of Sherwood' TV show.
After an extended break from touring the band now return to the live stage with a selection of shows planned for 2008.
The concerts provide a rare chance to see them performing material from across their entire ground breaking career.
