‘’How Much Is That Woman in the Window?’

Project Arts Centre

6th, 7th, 8th & 9th March.

How much is that woman in the window?  was previously performed at the Edinburgh Festival and Soho Theatre in London to critical acclaim. In an effort to rescue the term “feminist” from its negative depiction in the press, Keith Farnan questions whether we value women or simply put a value on them during the celebration of International Woman’s Day on the 8th March. Over the past few years, Primark have been caught selling push up bra’s to 7 year olds, a Doctor revealed she was the high class escort Belle De Jour and elections around the world have returned even fewer female politicians than before. Since the show was originally performed, the harsh reality of the economy is forcing many women to make difficult choices in relation to their life/work balance.

Meanwhile, Iceland turned to a female Prime Minister and all the EU have turned to Angela Merkel to save them from ruin…or clean up the mess. Despite these exceptions women’s involvement at the highest level of the corporate world remains embarrassingly low.  Having performed internationally acclaimed shows about the death penalty, racism and crippling economics, Keith is well placed to deliver a thoughtful, entertaining and funny show about what we want from women, and what they want from themselves.

Keith Farnan is a Stand-up comedian who has appeared on BBC’s Michael Mcintyre Comedy Roadshow, Montreal’s Just For Laughs as well as his own comedy documentary for RTE, Money, Money, Money: Keith Farnan versus the Economy. He has written four one man shows which have sold out their runs to critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival as well as the Soho Theatre and Royal Festival Hall in London.  He has appeared on a variety of radio shows including BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, BBC Scotland’s The Guessing Game with Clive Anderson and Colin Murphy’s Great Unanswered Questions for BBCNI. He was a successful applicant to the Irish Times Tiny Plays competition, which are being performed in the Project and received a commission to write a play, The Last Stevedore. He has also written for Time Out London, Hot Press and The Irish Post.

“Artful, satirical…with a lightness of touch and a hefty helping of roguish Celtic charm” – THE SUNDAY TIMES

“Incisive, brilliant comedy…We should be shouting from the rooftops about him”    - WHATSONSTAGE.COM

Facts to gasp at and jokes to die for… Farnan will make you think hard and laugh even harder” -THE LIST

“This is political comedy at its best, perfectly balanced, deadly serious and very funny”- FEST
